Darla Jade took a big step when writing latest single OverCrowDed, a painfully honest song which delves into Darla’s personal experiences with OCD and anxiety. OverCrowDed carries an almost sorrowful, thoughtful piano melody and melancholic string arrangements, while Darla’s soft yet powerful vocals sit with grace until we reach the breakdown, at which point Darla’s vocal range has an extended burst of emotion to compliment the music.

OverCrowDed follows on from Darla Jade’s first offical single This Time, a more up beat, pop-style song which further displays Darla’s talents as a singer and song writer. OverCrowDed however, shows a much more mature side to Darla’s nature, whilst also opening up about something very personal. Speaking of her own experiences which led to the motivation behind the song, Darla has said,

“I suffered with horrendous intrusive thoughts that I could never tell anyone about because I thought they were too bad to share, but when I went to counselling they made it very clear that a lot of the time it’s because you don’t want these things to happen that badly that you kind of psych yourself into thinking you do and it’s a whole weird thing that’s super hard to explain, but I just wanted to give you all a lil insight... The good thing is I do feel I’ve worked on it and it no longer terrifies me - I feel I’ve overcome it but I still have times when it flares especially when I’m anxious! But I think it’s great to accept and know this and just work with it as it comes!”

OverCrowDed is out now and is available on all music platforms.
