THE MOUSE OUTFIT is the DJ and MC setup from Manchester’s renowned hip hop collective The Mouse Outfit. Centered around producer and DJ Chini, the Soundsystem delivers a high-energy blend of jazz-influenced boom bap, heavy grooves and party-focused hip hop selections. On the mic, rappers KOJ and Ayite bring sharp lyricism, crowd interaction and raw cypher energy, turning each show into a live hip hop session.

Over the past decade, The Mouse Outfit have helped shape the sound of UK hip hop, working with more than 85 musicians, producers and vocalists while staying fully independent and rooted in DIY culture. They have self-released three studio albums and a remix album, building a dedicated global fanbase and racking up millions of plays and views across streaming platforms.

Their debut album Escape Music (2013) shone a light on Manchester’s grassroots scene, earning UK Hip Hop Album of the Year from Wordplay Magazine and leading to appearances at major festivals across Europe and beyond. Follow up projects Step Steadier (2015) and Jagged Tooth Crook (2018) expanded their sound and collaborator network, featuring artists such as IAMDDB and production from Chini, Pitch 92, Metrodome and Deese.

Now back on tour in Soundsystem mode, Chini, KOJ and Ayite present a stripped back, hard hitting version of The Mouse Outfit experience. Expect tight DJ selections from Chini, live vocals from Koj and Ayite and a show that joins the dots between classic boom bap, modern UK rap and the grassroots energy of Manchester hip hop.
